(Handgun Qualification License) Course
The Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge, skills, and certifications required to legally purchase, rent, or receive a handgun in the state of Maryland. Our course ensures compliance with Maryland state law while emphasizing firearm safety, proper handling, and legal responsibilities.
Classroom Instruction
Course Objectives:

Overview of Maryland's firearm laws, including requirements for handgun ownership.

Situations that could result in legal liabilities or criminal charges.

Proper loading, unloading, and maintenance techniques.

Live Fire Training:

Participants will fire at least one round of live ammunition to meet state requirements.

Course Duration: The HQL training course is a 4-hour program, as mandated by Maryland law.
Eligibility Requirements:

Participants must be at least 21 years old.

Must not be prohibited from owning a firearm under Maryland law.

No prior firearm experience is necessary to take the course.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate of completion, which is required to apply for the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL).
